Two La Liga stars Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos are set to become free agents as their contract with their respective clubs set to come to an end on June 30th.
Ramos has already left Real Madrid but his contract is still binding till the 30th of June with the Bernabeu outfit and his refusal to extend his deal with the stipulated time has seen him at a distance length to agree to a deal with Real Madrid.
Messi has been unwilling to sign a new deal at Camp Nou, though the Blaugrana directors have made series of efforts to ensure he extends his deal with the club.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made his No.1 goal to get Messi to put pen to paper on a new deal, but the Catalan club’s all-time record goalscorer has not done so just yet.
However, four months have now passed since Laporta became Barcelona president and there is no agreement between the club and Messi’s camp.
Laporta can still get Messi on board before midnight, Messi is currently with Argentina for the Copa America tournament in Brazil.
