Manchester United and Chelsea target Raphael Varane wants to remain at Real Madrid following the exit of Sergio Ramos from the Spanish capital-based club.
Real Madrid has re-entered the negotiation to extend Varane’s contract, which will expire in 2022, though the negotiation is still at a standstill.
The new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to partner David Alaba and the French defender, Varane wants the club to recognise his value, he is paid €6m net per season, a fee that is lower than the €12m net for Alaba.
The likes of Luka Modric, Lucas Vazquez and Ramos had been resolved but Varane is the only odd one out at the moment.
Varane is 28 and he knows this could be his final major contract and he is been monitored by Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain but Real Madrid is not ready to give up on their man.
Real Madrid has other options to explore with sight set on Sevilla Jules Kounde and Villarreal Pau Torress.
