Former Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel has made Stoke City decision after signing a new contract that will keep him at the club for another year.
The 34-year-old Nigerian midfielder teamed up with the Potters last summer after leaving Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor on a mutual agreement.
Stoke City have announced via the club official website that Mikel who was an influential figure in the middle of the park for the Potters, earning himself a contract extension.
Mikel played 41 times for Michael O’Neill side in the 2020-21 season as Stoke City failed to gain promotion to the Premier League as they end in the 14th spot with 60 points from 46 matches.
Former Chelsea midfielder will be hoping to help the club challenge for promotion back to the Premier League next season.
