Samuel Chukwueze has withdrawn from Super Eagles international friendly match against Cameroon after undergoing another successful surgery, according to a report from Spain.
The 22-year-old Nigerian international suffered a season-ending injury in Villarreal’s Europa League semi-final clash with Arsenal at Emirate Stadium.
Chukwueze returned to Yellow Submarine training ahead of the Europa League final against Manchester United but Super Eagles winger missed their first-ever major title win as Unai Emery’s side beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on penalties in Poland last week.
Villarreal made a statement via the club website and social media handle to confimed the news.
Medical update: @chukwueze_8.
Get well soon, Samu! 💪
