Chelsea manager Thomas Tucel has confirmed that Mateo Kovacic will not be included in the squad to play against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.

Chelsea will play Real Madrid to reach the Champions League final and the 2012 winners will be without the former Los Blancos midfielder for the clash against Zinedine Zidane’s men.

Tuchel has nearly every player available to him, but he cannot count on Croatia international Kovacic who is struggling with a muscle problem.

“It is a very short update,” he responded when asked about injuries, per the club website.
“Because it is only Mateo Kovacic we are missing.
“Everyone else is available and everyone else will be in the squad.”
