Francis Uzoho – APOEL Nicosia
Super Eagles goalkeeper delivered an excellent display to guide APOEL Nicosia to a disciplined 2-0 win over Ethnikos Achna in Cyprus on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Nigeria international played like one possessed, kept out an Ihor Khudobiak penalty in the 25th minute when the game was still scoreless and produced a string of fine saves to preserve his clean sheet.
Uzoho has not played for the three-time African champions in 16 months, but he gets closer to a recall after another composed performance for his club.
Abdullahi Shehu – Omonia Nicosia
Former Kano Pillars right-back was instrumental in Omonia Nicosia 1-0 away win Olympiakos Nicosia at Makario Stadium in Cyprus League.
Shehu featured in the entire duration with Omonia Nicosia return the top of the summit with one point adrift rival Apollon Limassol who sit in second place.
Zaidu Sanusi – Porto
The Gombe-born left-back ensure Porto keep a clean sheet during the goalless draw with league leaders Sporting Lisbon in the Premiera Liga encounter at Estadio do Dragao.
Sunusi made his 15th appearances of the season as Porto 10-point adrift rival Sporting Lisbon who are yet to lose a game this term.
Tosin Adarabioyo – Fulham
Nigerian defender has helped Fulham to another clean-sheets after a goalless draw with Crystal Palace in the Premier League encounter at Selhurst Park over the weekend.
The 23-year-old defender played in the entire duration with Scot Parker side remain in the bottom three in the Premier League table.
Hassan Abubakar – Enyimba
The newly signed Enyimba FC of Aba center back played a vital role in the People Elephant to keep a clean sheet away from home after a 0-0 draw with Adamawa United in the NPFL.
Abubakar who is popularly known as “Sergio Ramos” by fans has propelled Enyimba to fourth in the table with two outstanding matches to be played.
Ramon Azeez – Cartegena
Nigerian midfielder helped nine-man Cartegena secure their first win in three matches with a 1-0 triumph over Kenneth Omeruo’s Leganes in a La Liga Smartbank week 27 encounter on Friday night.
Azeez, who joined the struggling Spanish side during the winter transfer window was shown a yellow card midway through the first half while compatriot Omeruo was cautioned in the 84th minute of the clash.
Akinkunmi Amoo – Hammarby
The former Golden Eaglets star justified a rare start for Hammarby in the Swedish Cup with a second-half goal as his team ran away 3-0 winners over Oskarshamns AIK.
Amoo will hope to build on last season when his game time was limited to six appearances all from the bench and totalling 63 minutes.
Babajide Akintola – Hatayaspor
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder hit the target twice in Hatayaspor 4-1 home win over Ankaragucu in the Turkish Super Lig over the weekend.
Akintola has now scored six goals in 22 appearances in the Super Lig as Hatayaspor climbed to fifth on the table, just three points outside the bracket for qualification to European football next season.
Junior Ajayi – Al Ahly
The former Olympics Eagles forward brace earned Al Ahly a dramatic late 2-1 home victory over Tala’a El-Gaish on Sunday to stay on course for a successful defence of their league championship in Egypt.
The victory moved Al Ahly up to the second spot in the Egyptian Premier League with 24 points, five behind leaders Zamalek; however, the Reds still have two games in hand.
Their next game will see them travel to face struggling rivals Ismaily on March 10, but first, they will host AS Vita Club on Saturday, March 6 in the third round of the CAF Champions League group stages.
Paul Onuachu – Genk
Onuachu made it 24 goals in 28 league matches to power Genk to a brilliant 2-1 win at Sporting Charleroi.
Super Eagles star has been the best Nigerian striker in Europe by some distance this season, and he showed his composure in front of the goal one more time at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi with a 17th-minute penalty.
Onuachu now boasts 25 goals in all competitions for Genk, having netted once in the Belgian Cup as he continues to enjoy the most prolific campaign of his career.
Umar Sadiq – Almeria
The former AS Roma starlet was in his element as he missed a penalty, scored, and provided an assist to power Almeria to a 4-1 comprehensive win over Lugo in a Segunda Division week 27 clash at the Estadio Mediterraneo on Saturday evening.
Sadiq opened the scoring in the 11th-minute and supplied the assist for the second goal to lead the La Liga hopefuls to their 11th league win of an excellent campaign.
Super Eagles hopeful has now registered 13 goals and five assists in just 24 league matches in his debut season in Spain.
