Samuel Chukwueze was in action on Wednesday night for Villarreal in their Copa del Rey clash against Spanish third division club Zamora.
The Nigerian star provided an assist for Villarreal’s opener in their 4-1 away win that has seen them progress to the next round of the Cup competition.
Chukwueze set up Colombian striker Carlos Bacca sending him through on goal which he converted just after the half-hour mark.
Wednesday’s effort was Chukwueze’s fourth assist in 21 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign. The dazzling winger has also scored two goals.
Having done his bit, coach Unai Emery opted to pull out Chukwueze in 63rd minute; replacing him with Dani Parejo in the 63rd minute.
Other scorers for Villarreal in Wednesday’s tie were Yeremi Pino (43rd minute), Fer Nino (73rd minute) and Dani Raba (87th minute).
On their part, Zamora’s consolation goal was scored by Carlos Ramos on the stroke of half-time.
The win means Villarreal have progressed into the round of 32 of this season’s Copa del Rey.
