Super Eagles duo Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo were in action as Rangers strengthened their hold on top of the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Celtic on Saturday.
Gers manager, Steven Gerrard made two changes from the side that won against St. Mirren on Wednesday with Balogun and Ryan Kent replacing Ianis Hagi and Filip Helander while Neil Lennon made just one change from the 3-0 victory against Dundee United with Nir Bitton used in defence ahead of Christopher Julien.
After a goalless first half, the visitors suffered a major casualty in the second half as Nir Bitton was shown a straight red card for hauling down Alfredo Morelos.
The home side capitalize on the one man advantage as Aribo’s flick from a corner kick bounced off Callum McGregor and went into the net. The goal was given as McGregor’s own goal and that proved to be the winner.
Rangers remain unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership this season having won 20 of their 22 played games. They currently sit top of the table, 19 points ahead of bitter rivals Celtic who are second.
Celtic host Hibernian on Saturday while Rangers are away to third-placed Aberdeen next Sunday.
