MFM FC got their Nigeria Professional Football League 2020/21 season off to a winning start on Sunday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
The Olukoya Boys edged Warri Wolves 2-1 in one of the matchday one fixtures played across the country.
MFM had raced into a two-goal lead before they were pegged back by the visiting Warri Wolves team.
Ebenezer Odeyemi and Muyiwa Balogun were the goal scorers for the Olukoya Boys while John Paul Chinedu got the only goal for Warri Wolves.
Odeyemi was on target just eight minutes into the game before Balogun made it 2-0 in favour of MFM in the 23rd minute.
While many were already thinking Wolves would be torn apart by the Olukoya Boys, Chinedu pulled one back for Warri Wolves in the 27th minute.
The hope of seeing more fireworks in the second half was dashed as both teams fired blanks and ended the tie at 2-1.
MFM would be proud of getting the maximum points in the seaon opener even as they would hope for better days ahead.
