The Nigeria Professional Football League has gotten off to a thrilling start with some surprising results coming from some of the matchday 1 games played on Sunday.
The biggest result of the weekend was recorded in Jos where Kwara United stunned their hosts Plateau United; beating them 2-0.
Well-taken second-half goals from Jide Fatokun in the 62nd minute and another one from Michael Ohanu five minutes after ensured that the Harmony Boys got their season off to a flying start.
Fatokun is one of the newbies at the Ilorin-based club while Ohanu is on a second spell with the Afonja Warriors.
With the victory, Kwara United are top of the NPFL standings and they will hope to keep the momentum going into the season.
As for Plateau United starting the season on a losing note just after they have been ousted from the CAF Champions League is bound to heap a lot of pressure on the Peace Boys.
