Super Eagles star Zaidu Sanusi continued his rise in Europe as he scored his first goal in the UEFA Champions League during FC Porto’s 2-0 victory over Ligue 1 side Marseille on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old has been a super regular for the Portuguese side since the move of Alex Telles to Premier League side Manchester United in the summer.
Sanusi, who was impressive last week when Porto hammered Marseille 3-0 scored his first ever Champions League goal when he put his effort past Steve Mandanda in goal for the home side inside the Stade Orange Velodrome.
Sergio Oliveira wrapped up the win for the away side with a goal from the penalty spot to help strengthen their grip on second spot in Group C. Both sides finished with 10-men after Marko Grujic and Leonardo Balerdi were shown their second yellow card by Swedish referee Andreas Ekberg.
Sanusi made his competitive debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the pulsating 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
