The Super Eagles of Nigeria will go into the match against Sierra Leone in Freetown with a single mind of picking the three points at stake but the Leone Stars would be battle ready in the Match-Day 4 of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Just like witnessed in Benin only on Friday, the hosts will be motivated despite the match being played inside an empty stadium due to the Cocid-19 pandemic.
Sierra Leone came to Nigeria as massive underdogs but with a game plan and shocked the three-time African Champions by drawing 4-4. What was more impressive was the fact that they came from 4-0 down to pull that off – another incredible highlight of the year 2020.
Interestingly, Nigeria will be without their talisman Victor Osimhen who has returned to his club Napoli following a shoulder injury he picked up during the AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone on Friday in Benin.
That provides the opportunity for KRC Genk star Paul Onuachu to lead the attack while the likes of Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Captain Ahmed Musa to provide support from midfield.
Nigeria have honestly not had too much problems playing against Sierra Leona, having won nine drawn four and lost just two of their 15 encounters against their Tuesday night hosts. The last time Nigeria lost away to Sierra Leone was in 2001, it was a 1-0 defeating during the World Cup qualifier.
However, it will be a tricky test for the Nigerian team and Betpay recognizes that. During the first match, BetPay pegged a win for the Leone Stars at a massive 22.20 odds while the Eagles had just 1.14 odds. But for Tuesday’s game, the winning odd for Sierra Leone is reduced to 5.10 while they was an increase for the Eagles at 1.65 odds. A draw is set on 4.55 odds and it might prove to be a game changer for a lot of risk takers.
The game in freetown may not produce a lot of goals as witnessed in Benin but Betpay has pegged a result for over 2.5 on 2.20 odds and under 2.5 for 1.55 odds. At this point, you might be itching to know the prediction so you can stake on a team. Do you know, a N10, 000 bet on a straight win for Sierra Leone will earn you a massive 50k and more? Not so much for Nigeria with the same amount of money.
So, will it be loyalty or money making instinct for you when you watch the match on Tuesday? People will just watch and grumble at the results – perhaps their teams’ performance but you can join millions of followers at Betpay to cashout.
Sierra Leone 0-0 Nigeria.
