Edo State deputy governor Philip Shaibu joined Super Eagles in training ahead of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone on Friday evening.

Sixteen players already in Super Eagles camp at Eagles’ Etherno Hotel in Benin City and were cheered on by fans at the place of lodging.

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr led the training along with his assistant Joesph Yobo plus the state deputy governor Shaibu at the refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

The Super Eagles last played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in 2011, a friendly encounter against the Zebras of Botswana.

Nigeria lead the qualifying group with six points after wins over Benin and Lesotho, while Sierra Leone is third with a point.
