Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has turned to Martin Odegaard after Fede Valverede’s injury in the 4-1 defeat against Valencia.
Valverde has been in great form since last season, he has put the likes of Toni Kross, Casemiro and Luka Modric on their toes.
Odegaard is yet to big a big impact with the Los Blancos since his return from Real Sociedad, his performance has been hindered by injury and a false COVID positive test result.
It is time Zidane call on the Norwegian star to showcase what he can offer, though he is a different player from the Uruguayan star.
Odegaard will inject flair and incisiveness while Valverde brings to the game energy, determination and steel to the midfield.
Real Madrid has some high demanding fixtures after the international break, with Villarreal in LaLiga Santander followed by Inter in the Champions League the first two tasks around the corner.
Zidane will bank on Odegaard in the tight schedule ahead of the return of Casemiro and Valverde.
