Feelers from Super Eagles’ Benin camp reveals that Victor Osimhen suffered flight cancellation owing to Covid-19 recent surge in Europe.
A source in the Eagle’s camp revealed that the Napoli striker had a difficult time getting a seat on the next available flight due to recent cancellation by Italian authorities.
He is however expected in camp on Wednesday barring any late hitches.
Osimhen was on song against Bologna after his first-half header sealed a hard-fought 1-0 win on Sunday to make it his second goal in six Serie A games for Napoli with his first coming in a 4-1 win against Atalanta last month.
Osimhen’s guardian, Ariyo Igbayilola confirmed to FCNaija that Osimhen is still being expected in Benin after his sterling performance in the Italian Serie A on Sunday.
” Honestly I don’t know when Osimhen will hit Super Eagles camp, but I’m in Benin at the moment,”he said.
Meanwhile, Sparta Rotterdam keeper Maduka Okoye is expected to keep his shirt following his sterling performance against Algeria and Tunisia in last month’s friendly in Austria while uncapped FC Lugano keeper, Sebastian Osigwe may have to wait for his national team debut.
