Samuel Chukwueze was in action Thursday night as his Spanish side Villarreal secured a 3-1 victory over Qarabag in their Europa League Group I clash.

The Nigeria international was afforded his second start in 2020-21 and he did not disappoint with his continuous runs on the flanks.

Though Chukwueze was not among the goals scorers, he struck five shots, with two hitting the target.


He also completed two dribbles and had 48 touches on the ball to ensure his side secured their second consecutive win in the competition this season.

The Nigeria international featured for 86 minutes in the encounter before he was finally substituted.

Chukwueze has now featured nine times for Unai Emery’s men across all competitions this season, including three in the European tournament.

The forward will hope to replicate his eye-catching performances for Nigeria in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Sierra Leone in November having been included in the 24-man list released Thursday by coach Gernot Rohr.
