Arsenal legend, Ian Wright expects Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho to be upset for starting on the bench despite the absence of Jamie Vardy in the starting line-up for Leicester City against the Gunnars at the Emirates.

Iheanacho was on fire on Thursday for the former Premier League champions as he scored one and assisted twice in a comprehensive 3-0 victory and was expected to start since Vardy was recovering from injury but manager Brendan Rodgers has decided on a different formation.

‘If I’m Iheanacho right now, I’ll be upset,’ Wright said in a studio session with the premier league. ‘He is the second striker to Jamie Vardy and he is not playing, instead James Maddison and Harvey Barnes were selected in the striking role – that should upset him.

‘If Vardy is fit, he will be playing but Iheanacho is fit and doing well but he is on the bench against Arsenal. He should be asking questions right now.’

For Arsenal, new signing from Atletico Madrid Thomas Party starts his first match for Mikel Arteta’s side.
