Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo had a game to forget on his return from injury as he saw red in Galatasaray’s 2-1 defeat against Alanyaspor at the Türk Telekom Stadyumu in İstanbul.
The 24-year-old got injured just before the international break when the former Turkish Super Lig champions lost 1-0 to Kasimpasa and missed Nigeria’s two friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia.
Etebo recovered faster than expected and was handed a starters shirt against Alanyaspor. The Nigerian picked up a yellow in the 30th minute and got sent off just before half-time following a second yellow card.
Galatasaray went in front courtesy a penalty from former Atletico Madrid forward, Radamel Falcao but Khouma Babacar ensured the first half ended in a draw with a well-timed equalizer.
The visitors took advantage of having one man more in the second half as Davidson scored a late winner to break the hearts of the few Galatasaray fans inside the stadium.
Alanyaspor currently sit top of the log with 13points from five matches while Galatasaray are placed fifth with seven points.
