Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is set to play in his first Old Firm derby in Scotland when Rangers travel to face bitter rivals Celtic on Saturday but Joe Aribo is expected to miss the tie.
The top of the table clash is usually viewed as Scotland’s version of El Classico and fireworks are always expected on match days.
Balogun, who joined Rangers this summer suffered a muscle strain against St. Johnstone in August but returned during the Gers 5-1 victory over Motherwell in September. His performances earned him a recall to the Super Eagles where he featured against Algeria and Tunisia.
Balogun’s compatriot Aribo will miss the derby through injury but manager Steven Gerard will hope his side maintains their 11-match unbeaten record.
Rangers currently sit top of the Scotland premier league with 26 points while Celtic are just a point adrift in second with a game in hand.
