Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr has expressed delight with the performance of the team despite defeat against Algeria in an international friendly.

The Desert Foxes who beat Nigeria in the semifinal of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scored in the sixth minute through Ramy Bensebaini and that proved to be the winner.

Speaking after the match, the German tactician said: “This is a very good test for us. There are positives to pick from a tough game like this. Now we have to recover well and start to plan for the next game on Tuesday against another tough team.”


Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi who was one of the best performers for the Super Eagles on the night, tweeted: ‘Wasn’t The Result We Wanted but We Gave It Our Best.’

The Super Eagles will return to action on Tuesday night when they face another North African side, Tunisia by 7:30pm.
