The reason why the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) on Thursday announced a new venue for the international friendly against Nigeria has been revealed.
The much anticipated friendly was earlier scheduled for the Jacques Lemans Arena, Austria but FAF said in a statement on Thursday that the match will now take place at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, Austria.
FAF revealed that the need to go for a bigger pitch was mooted after Austria federal authorities advised organisers to move the encounter to Klagenfurt where the lawns are excellent.
“It is at the request of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) that this change takes place in order to allow the two teams to evolve in a larger enclosure and on an excellent lawn,” FAF explained.
