Real Madrid has beaten Barcelona to the signing of Real Mallorca starlet Rafael Obrador, according to report in Spanish media.

Obrador plays as a left-back and he is tipped to have a blissful career ahead of him in Spanish football, he has been on the radar of Spanish top clubs with Barcelona and Real Madrid vying for his services.

The Blaugrana showed interest in signing the defender but Real Madrid stepped in to sign him after Barcelona has shown interest in him.

Obrador has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid and he could not hesitate when the Los Blancos directors came calling.

Los Merengues has a good relationship with the signing of players from the Balearic Islands, with Pablo Ramon and Xavi Sintes currently in the academy and Marco Asensio in the first team.

Real Madrid is not expected to sign players for the senior team after the board decided against such move during their pre-season meeting with manager Zinedine Zidane.
