While he has been effectively ruled out of the Super Eagles’ first games of 2020, Galatasaray midfielder, Ogenekaro Etebo has also been left to bemoan his side 1-0 loss to Kasimpasa in Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig fixtures.
Etebo played for 90 minutes as Gala blew the chance of going top of the league table as coach Fatih Terim side we’re subjected to their first league defeat o the season, and Etebo admitted that things didn’t go according to plans on Sunday.
The former Getafe loanee however urged his teammates to remain positive in the face of the defeat and then dig deeper into their training routine to return to winning ways after the International break.
Etebo admitted Gala got more than what they bargained for against Kasimpasa but expressed confidence in the ability of the club to regain it’s winning mentality after the Turkish giants bite the dust on Sunday.
“Disappointing results, but sometimes football is always like this and it’s important to keep a positive spirit and stay strong as a family. I strongly believe we’re going to get our winning mentality back,” Etebo said on his Twitter accounts.
It’s been a difficult week for Galatasaray after their initial home draw against rival Fenerbahce, were bundled out of Europa League by Glasgow Rangers. Another loss to Kasimpasa was the last straw for coach Fatih Terim who expressed his displeasure with the club’s failure to sign up players he requested for.
Etebo joined Galatasaray from Championship side Stoke City on a season-long loan.
