Ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is desperate to see France teammate Ousmane Dembele join him at Old Trafford, according to reports.
The Red Devils have been after Jadon Sancho this summer but Borussia Dortmund are insisting they pay his full release clause of around 120million euros (£109m) which has forced the club into looking for alternatives to the winger.
According to French journalist Julien Laurens, Pogba is trying his hardest to convince his Dembele to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Laurens revealed on his personal Twitter account that negotiations are progressing positively but no agreement have been reached between the two clubs.
Interestingly, the 23-year-old is not willing to leave Barcelona but the club is open to losing the player who has been plagued by major injury concerns and wants his £215,000-a-week wages to be paid in full by Manchester United if they eventually agree to take him on a season long loan.
Dembele moved to Barcelona in August 2017 but has only played 20 minutes of La Liga football this season.
