Tottenham Hotspurs fans have a reason to anticipate as Gareth Bale has started training in the build-up to getting down to real work for the London team.
Bale is on loan from Real Madrid to Spurs but he is only just recovering from an injury; hence he is not yet available for Jose Mourinho’s team.
The Portuguese manager gave some update on the Welsh star’s fitness on Wednesday.
He said: “He’s working very hard, committed, very professional, very happy, but not yet ready for tomorrow (Thursday v Maccabi Haifa) or the weekend (Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday).
“I believe the two weeks of international (following this weekend’s Premier League fixtures) could be important to his last phase of recovering and fitness, hopefully, to play when we’re back on the weekend after internationals. Let’s see if it’s possible to arrive there.”
Initially signed as a 17-year-old from Southampton in 2007, Gareth made his name over six years at Spurs before moving to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2013.
