According to reports in England, the exit of former Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo from Manchester United will spark interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King.
The 31-year-old who is currently on loan from Chinese Super League side, Shanghai Greenland Shenhua was initially expected to end his loan spell at Old Trafford in May but after the premier league season was extended due to the deadly outbreak of Covid-19, his loan deal was extended to January 2021.
Interestingly, Manchester Evening News reports that the Red Devils had ended their pursuit for Bournemouth duo David Brooks and Joshua King this summer.
Brooks was viewed as an alternative for long-term target Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho while King was seen as a backup striker to France international Anthony Martial.
But Man United have now ruled out a return for academy product King, although they could revive their interest in him in January when Ighalo’s loan spell ends.
Donny van de Beek remains the only arrival in the current window but Manchester United have until October 16 to complete domestic deals, with the October 5 deadline only applying to international transfers.
