Victor Osimhen got another assist for himself in the Serie A on Sunday as Napoli romped to 6-0 annihilation of Genoa.

The Nigerian striker who is Napoli’s record-signing was unlucky not be part of the scorers having come close on a number of occasions in what was his home debut and first competitive start for the Naples-based club.

Napoli led 1-0 at halftime after Dries Mertens had set up Lozano for the opener in the 10th minute.

Piotr Zielinski scored seconds after the restart and Mertens also netted before Lozano doubled his tally

Goals from Elif Elmas and Matteo Politano capped a great night for Napoli, which visits Juventus next week.

Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne is now a doubt for that match after pulling up injured with a thigh injury in the first half

Osimhen in his 90 minutes of action recorded five total shots, won three aerial battles with a passing accuracy of 61.5%.


Osimhen’s African compatriots, Kalidou Koulibaly starred for every minute while Algeria’s Faouzi Ghoulam was introduced in the 73rd minute for Piotr Zielinski.

Napoli will face Juventus in their next outing on October 4 and Osimhen will be more than glad to open his account against the champions.
