Luis Suarez has wasted no time in making his presence felt at new club Atletico Madrid as he has demanded for the signing of Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The former Barcelona forward completed a £5.5 million on Thursday and made a teary exit from the Nou Camp after he gave an emotional speech to teammates.
Diego Simeone’s side are in a straight battle with Inter Milan for the services of Torreira and for the Spanish team, they see him as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey, who is wanted by Arsenal.
According to AS, Suarez has begged Atletico to sign his international teammate Torreira. Interestingly, Atletico are only considering a loan deal for the 24-year-old Uruguayan with an option to buy at the end of the season, but the Gunners want to sell the player.

“Luis Suarez was very helpful,” Torriera said not long after he moved to North London. “He spoke to Raul, who brought many players to Barcelona. I was really grateful to Luis and only a short time ago I sent him a message of thanks.”
Arsenal are already looking at Thomas Partey and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar to replace Torreira, whom they reportedly signed for £21.8 million from with Fiorentina.
