Liam Delap scored on his debut for Manchester City in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the EFL Cup on Thursday evening.
Manchester City drew the first blood following a great link-up play between Delap and Phil Folden that resulted in the opening goal via Delap’s effort in the 18th minute.
Dan Gosling was instrumental for Bournemouth as he pulled back the ball for Sam Surridge at the edge of the box to grab the equaliser for the visitors in the 22nd minute.
Bournemouth attacker Surridge missed out the opportunity to score in the 54th minute with his effort just inches wide off the mark.
It was Folden that came to the rescue of Manchester City after he scored in the 75th minute to hand Pep Guardiola’s men the second goal of the evening.
The game ended 2-1 in favour of Manchester City.
