Bayern Munich needed an extra time goal to defeat Sevilla 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup on Thursday evening.

Sevilla got the opener from the penalty spot with Lucas Ocampos nicely coverts it for the Spanish team following a rough tackle from David Alaba in the 11th minute of the game.

Sevilla was unable to hold the lead for so long and in the 34th minute of the clash, Leon Goretzka equalised for the German Champion from a powerful shot to make it 1-1 before the half time.

Sevilla stood toe to toe with the German team with the Spanish team looking dangerous in the counter-attack with the Europa Champions failing to finalise a swift counter-attack that left Bayern Munich’s defense open thanks to Manuel Neuer’s brilliance performance to deny Julen Lopetegui’s men the victory.

In the extra time scored to give Bayern the lead from a powerful header.
