Super Eagles prospect Sebastian Osigwe has expressed delight with his debut for new club Lugano, FCNaija can report.
The 26-year-old was selected in goal by manager Maurizio Jacobacci for the Switzerland Super League encounter at the Stadio Cornaredo and he helped his side to a 2-1 victory on the opening day of the 2020/2021 season.
Sebastian tweeted after the match: “You are never too late. God’s timing is perfect. Happy for my debut and a great team effort! +3.”
Alexander Gerndt opened scoring for Lugano before Mattia Bottani doubled the lead which gave the home side a 2-0 first half advantage. The home side was slowed down when Christopher Lungoyi was a straight red card in the second half.
Luzern got a goal back courtesy Miroslav Covilo’s own goal but the home side held on despite playing the remainder of the match with 10-men. The win ensured Lugano are placed second while Luzern sit eighth.
