Super Eagles center-back, Leon Balogun could be fit for Sunday’s premier league clash against third-placed Hibernian.
Balogun limped off with quad tight injuries a few minutes before kick-off against Dundee last weekend and was later dropped from Wednesday’s Europa Cup qualifiers as Gers went on a goal rampage winning 5-0 in Gibraltar.
But the former Brighton defender could face a late fitness test that could possibly line him for Sunday’s selection.
Meanwhile, coach Steven has lauded the Nigerian for coming to the club to prove a point and not to make up the numbers
“I think Leon has come in and really took the challenge to Connor, Filip, and George and said ‘look, I am here to play, I’m not here to make the numbers up’, which is great”, Gerrard said on Rangers TV.
“So the competition for places is really fierce at center-back.
“I think they will all play over the course of the season because I have got full trust in them all.“
Rangers sit top of the Scottish Premiership table after collecting 19 points from their 7 opening matches.
