Former Enugu Rangers star Obinna Nwobodo joins Brown Ideye‘s Turkish club Goztepe on a three-year deal from Hungarian team Ujpest.  

The 23-year Nigerian midfielder will link up with his compatriot and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, who also arrived at the club this summer.

Turkish Super Lig club Goztepe confirmed the signing of Nwobodo on their official website.

“We signed a 3-year contract with Nigerian midfielder Obinna Nwobodo, born in 1996.

“Born on November 29, 1996 in Enugu, Nigeria, Nwobodo played in the teams of his country, and in the 2017-18 season, he transferred to the Hungarian Ujpest team and played in the Hungarian team in the following seasons.

“We welcome Obinna Nwobodo to our Göztepe and wish them success with our glorious form.

The former Flying Eagles star started his career with FC Inter before a spell at Rangers Enugu and continue his career by joining Ujpest and made more than 110 appearances and scored 15 goals for the Hungary club.

Nwobodo could make his debut for his new club when they take on Gaziantep at Yeni Malatya Stadyumu on September 26.
