Tottenham Hotspur is on the verge of signing Real Madrid star Sergio Reguilon, according to report in Marca.
The move is subjected to medicals before he joined the London based club for 30 million euros, the transfer is expected to be confirmed on Thursday.
Manchester United was close to sealing the deal for the Real Madrid left-back, but they didn’t want to accept Real Madrid’s proposal of a buy-back clause.
Tottenham Hotspur was excited by the move and have accepted Real Madrid’s offer of a buy-back clause worth between 35 to 45 million euros.
The presence of Marcelo and Ferland Mendy at Real Madrid would reduce Reguilon playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu and they are not interested in losing the star on an outright sale.
Real Madrid would trigger the buy-back clause when Marcelo’s contract expires in 2022.
Reguilon fellow Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale could join Spurs as well with Jose Mourinho keen on signing the attacker for the next season football campaign.
