Real Madrid was excited with the news of Marco Asensio surviving a scare in his left knee that almost kept him out of the whole season in the last campaign.
Asensio earned a call up by Spanish manager Luis Enrique but the Real Madrid forward left the camp last week after experiencing some pains in his knee that kept him out of action for the best part of the just-concluded season.
The test carried out on Monday shows has shown there has been no recurrence of his previous injury and no serious problem in his knee.
Spain had diagnosed the problem as swelling and it doesn’t appear to be any more serious than that.
The attacking midfielder will spend a few days in the gym before returning to train with his Real Madrid teammates.
Real Madrid fitness coach Gregory Dupont will ensure Asensio is in the same fitness level with the rest of the squad.
Asensio will miss out on Real Madrid’s first game of the season against Real Sociedad on September 20 but he will be greatly welcomed by manager Zinedine Zidane with James Rodriguez sold to Everton Real Madrid need to fill the void left by the Colombian star and can’t avoid to lose another left-footer in the team.
