Though basking in the euphoria of his team hundred percent pre-season preparations, Napoli boss Genarro Gattuso has tasked Victor Osimhen to develop an insatiable hunger for goal scoring.
Osimhen recorded his second hat-trick as Napoli’s crushed Italian third division side Teramo 4-0, in Friday’s pre-season game, but Gattuso warned the Nigerian striker not to get carried away by his second straight hat-trick in a friendly.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Kiss Kiss at the weekend, Gattuso expressed his satisfaction with overall team performance but pointed out that goals scored in friendly games count as nothing.
The former Lille forward completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute before he was substituted for Fernando Llorente in the 75th.
He then tasks the Super Eagles’ striker to rise up to the occasion starting with Napoli’s Serie A opener at Parma.
“Osimhen has a lot of physicalities, but he doesn’t have to be satisfied. The goals he scores at the moment don’t count for anything, but he fits in very well into the group. He jokes with everyone and makes himself loved. “.
“We breathed a different air. It’s nice to see people at the stadium and for training. We worked hard and we were lucky to find these facilities. I thank everyone. I’m very happy.” the Napoli coach told Radio Kiss Kiss
