Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has given his opinion on Lionel Messi’s situation at Barcelona, according to report in Marca.

Messi handed in a transfer request to Barcelona directors and he has refused to turn up for the preseason medicals with his fellow teammates.

Ramos insisted that he is sure about the way the Argentine captain is conducting his business at the Camp Nou.

“It’s a topic that we’re putting to one side,” Ramos told the press when asked about Messi.
“He’s earned the right to decide his future, but I don’t know if it’s the best way.

“For Spanish football, for Barcelona and for us, we’d like him to stay.
“Leo makes the Spanish league, his team and the Clasicos better.

“You always like beating the best and he’s one of the best in the world.”
At the moment Ramos is focused on Spain’s Nations League matches against Germany and Ukraine.
