Barring any injuries or loss of form, the potentially explosive clash between Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and legend Cristiano Ronaldo will come up on October 4 going by the full Serie A fixtures released on Wednesday.
While Osimhen will make his bow against Parma in a fortnight (Sept. 20) he is billed for a tough tie in Turin away to Juventus in week 3 on October 4.
Juventus are perennial champions of the Serie A and nothing suggests they would want to relinquish that status even under their rookie manager Andrea Pirlo.
While Osimhen has already shown a glimpse of what he is capable of after netting an eight-minute hat trick in his pre-season debut, many are more interested in what he will bring to the table in the season proper.
It is already known that Napoli broke the bank to sign Osimhen from Lille because they badly needed a goal-scoring machine.
It is yet to be seen if Osimhen will be anywhere near the 36 goals scored by Lazio’s Immobile last season or the 31 netted by Ronaldo.
Milik. A was the only Napoli player that scored double digits (11) last season but one can bank on Osimhen surpass that this season.
