Former Flying Eagles star, Taju Disu has tasked Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr to increase his rapport with Napoli new signing Victor Osimhen and his manager Genarro Gattuso.
The ex-internationals hinted that Osimhen needs encouragement from all quarters most especially from his national team manager to help reduce pressures that come with his huge price tag.
Disu expressed his relief and delight at seeing the former Lille striker score a hat-trick on his debut for the Naples side and hope the towering striker hit the ground running when Serie A gets underway this season.
He pointed out that top managers around the world are always in close contact with managers of clubs their players play and that it won’t be out of place if Rohr to do the same.
” It is so delightful to see Osimhen do well for his club on debut, but all he needs now is our encouragement most especially from Gernot Rohr. Rohr needs to keep in touch and encourage him now that he is in a bigger club.
” Osimhen needs Rohr at a time like this, as a national team manager to give him the right support because that will help reduce the pressure that comes with his price tag.
” Rohr’ must have good rapport with Gattuso too because a good relationship with the manager will also help the player grow with confidence.
” His form is a good development for Super Eagles too because it simply means we now have someone we can trust to score goals for Nigeria when it matters most, he said
Victor Osimhen began his time at Napoli on a very positive note as he scored a hat-trick and also provided an assist in an 11-0 mauling of L’Aquila at the Abruzzo training camp in Castel di Sangro on Friday.
