Chelsea is offered the opportunity to sign a world class-centre back on a free transfer, according to report.
The report in the Telegraph confirmed that Paris Sanit-Germain Thiago Silva has been offered to the Stamford Bridge team on a free transfer.
Chelsea has endured some defensive challenges in the last season and they have suffered from lack of adequate replacement for the exit of a player like John Terry.
The Brazilian defender Silva is one of the best in the game, he is experienced but age is not on his side, the former AC Milan defender is 35-year-old.
The former AC Milan star got experience and class that would bring calmness and togetherness to that backline, and his lack of pace wouldn’t be an issue if he’s paired with a quicker partner either.
Silva has a great reading and timing ability on the ball, and he has proven that he can adapt to styles and formation, some of the attributes manager Frank Lampard should consider in signing him.
Though he might not play beyond two seasons at a high level, he would impact the players around him and it would give Chelsea time to raise the funds to sign a longer-term option next summer
