Former Real Madrid attacker Gonzalo Higuain has warned Lionel Messi against a move to the Premier League.

Messi is unhappy at the Camp Nou and his mood has sparked rumours of a potential transfer exit from Barcelona to the Premier League.

Higuain played just half-season at the Stamford Bridge in the 2018/19 season and had a test of the Premier League can offer.

“I suffered a lot in the Premier League and couldn’t adapt in those six months,” he told Fox Sports.

“It’s nothing like LaLiga.
“There, the defenders rough you up with kicks and they don’t blow for freekicks like they would in Spain.

“I don’t know how that would affect Messi.
“I don’t think he would suffer, since he is a player at another level.”
Higuain went on to say that he simply wants Messi to be happy.

“I don’t know what Messi is thinking right now, but I hope he decides what he feels will make him happy,” he said.
“That’s the most important part of a decision.

Higuain made a return back to the Serie A though won the Europa League with the Blues under Sarri.
