Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly rejected the offer from Barcelona to replace underfire Quique Setien at the Camp Nou dugout.

Wenger is yet to return to management since he ended his 22-years at Arsenal in 2018 but he has been heavily involved in football by taking a role as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development.

The report in the Le 10 Sport claim that the French tactician has been presented with numerous offers since he quit Arsenal and Barcelona has also reached out to the former AS Monaco manager.

The Barcelona board has contacted Wenger while speculation over the future of Setien refuses to go away. The talks of Wenger replacing the Spanish manager was initially going on well but it seems the offer has been turned down and that has left Barcelona searching for a replacement after he missed out on the La Liga title to Real Madrid.

Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has been heavily linked with the role since last season before the appointment of Setien but he was unavailable due to his role with Qatari side Al-Sadd in January.
