Former Trabzonspor midfielder, Onazi Ogenyi has revealed how Colombia star Hugo Rodallega played a huge role in his transfer to Denizlispor.
In a chat with Skorer on Thursday, the former SC Lazio midfielder said his former Trabzonspor teammates was key to his joining the Green and Black team after he struggled with Achilles heels tendon injury at the Burgundy.
Onazi parted ways with Denizlispor last month with one game to play in the Turkish Super Lig and he is on the verge of joining Partizan Belgrade this summer.
“The presence of my teammate Hugo Rodallega from Trabzonspor was one of the reasons that led me to come to Denizli. He was an excellent gentleman who made me his big brother.
“The city of Denizli is a little bigger than Trabzon in terms of having more places to go and more restaurants to eat,” he said.
Onazi went on to offer a word of advice for Trabzonspor Norwegian born striker, Alexander Solot on the need to make hay while the sun shines at the club.
“Sörloth is a very good striker. We did much training together. Sörloth is a very good striker that disrupts the balance of the opponent’s defence with its mobility in the offensive line. He has an absolute superiority in taking shots and air cannons.
“He also presses and fights for every ball. His performance is on the rise and anything is possible for him.
“No player is at the top of his form forever, so he should take this opportunity to get the best for himself,” Onazi said.
