Scott Parker guides Fulham back into the premier league following a 2-1 victory over Brentford in the final of the Championship play-off.
The game which stretched into extra-time took a Joe Bryan’s extra time brace earn the Cottagers the much needed win.
After regular time ended goalless, Fulham’s Bryan caught out Bees goalkeeper David Raya with a stunning 40-yard free-kick in the 105th minute.
The left-back then completed his unexpected double with a cool close-range finish after a smart one-two with Aleksandar Mitrovic in the 117th minute.
Brentford who played the better football halved the deficit through Henrik Dalsgaard late on in injury-time, but there was not enough time to equalise at Wembley.
The feat meant it was Fulham’s second promotion to the Premier League in three seasons.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Parker said: “I feel emotional and I suppose the journey you go on, you know the ups and downs and along the way the disappointment.
“I’m the face that fronts it up, but behind the scenes, the support network of people, they keep you going in those times.
“That’s why I feel emotional, I feel for those people that aren’t here [due to coronavirus] and the fans supporting the team.
“As a manager you’ve sometimes not got that. I’m so proud of my team and what we’ve done.”
