Turkish giants, Fenerbahce have re-open bid to sign Super Eagles’ and Bordeaux winger Uche Kalu ahead of the coming season.
Skorer reported on Thursday afternoon that Kalu is occupying the top spot in the pecking order of foreign players the club intend to sign after he became surplus to requirements at the Girondin last season.
Having performed below expectations last season, Fenerbahce have since accelerated their efforts to bring in top quality players that would help the club regain its fear factor in the Turkish Super Lig.
According to the news of TRT Spor, the Yellow Navy are in deep negotiation with Bordeaux over the 22-year-old winger who played in 20 games with 1 goal and 1 assist.
Kalu joined Bordeaux from Belgian Pro League club KAA Gent in 2018 but has not had the best of times at the club with lots of family issues forming a distraction to the progress of the young lad.
The club also feels the €8m fee spent on him has been a waste of resources.
The 23-year-old scored just once in 20 league appearances for Les Girondins last season and has also been criticized by manager Paolo Souza for not showing enough commitment to training.
