Real Madrid could scupper Pep Guardiola’s move for Bayern Munich star David Alaba this summer.
Alaba favours a move to Real Madrid despite interest from Premier League giants, according to report in the Telegraph.
In recent reports, Manchester City has been in talks with Alaba’s representatives but the Austria international has different plans as he preferred a move to Spain to play in the La Liga top teams.
According to James Ducker a reporter for the Telegraph, Alaba does favour a move to Spain if he is to leave Bayern Munich, but that Manchester City is prepared to make a bid if they receive any signals that the left-back could be tempted to reunite with his former Bayern Munich manager.
Manchester City is willing to sign Valencia attacker Ferran Torres, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake and Sevilla Diego Carlos ahead of the coming season.
Alaba’s versatility will be vital for Guardiola, the defender can operate as a left-back, defensive midfielder and as a centre back.
Guardiola knows Alaba so well having managed the defender during his stint at Bayern Munich before he switched to Manchester City four seasons ago.
