Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has made a huge comparison between Real Madrid ace Eden Hazard and Christian Pulisic.
The American star came in as a substitute in the 5-3 defeat against Liverpool and he made a major impact few minutes after stepping on the pitch, he set up Tammy Abraham and piled pressure on the Premier League Champions before Liverpool went on to wrap up the game 5-3 as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fired past the hapless Kepa Arrizabalaga late on.
“[Pulisic] is hugely important,” said Lampard. “He has had that impact. I was here for Eden’s first year and it’s not easy to come into the Premier League, even for Eden in that first year, and adapt to the Premier League.
“Christian has had his moments.
Since midseason, he’s had a really good patch, since restart he has been in incredible form. Only the injury he picked up in the Norwich game has kept him out of the semi-final when he is flying.
Today he comes on and has 40 minutes, with the injury, which is great to show the quality that he has been showing.
“He’s so young, he has such natural talent. He scores goals, he creates goals and he is a big player for us. Delighted to see him come through fit.
He will be a big player for us in these next few games but going forward as well.”
Whereas Pulisic’s star is on the rise at Stamford Bridge, goalkeeper Kepa’s form should be a real concern for Lampard.
Chelsea will face Wolves at Stamford Bridge as they aim to seal a top-four spot in a bid to play in the Champions League next season.
