According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter Milan have opened talks with Manchester United over extending the loan of Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez.
Speaking on the situation, Giuseppe Marotta, chief executive of the club said: “We have had some contact with Manchester United to understand if we can extend his stay after the Europa League playoff with Getafe.”
The 31-year-old will not be available for their Europa League last-16 clash with Getafe despite his initial loan being extended until August 7 due to the rescheduled Serie A campaign.
But Inter are hoping to make the latter stages of the Europa League, though, and they are in talks with United over an extension to cover the rest of their European campaign.
Sanchez, who struggled at Old Trafford has scored three times and contributed 10 assists in 26 appearances for Inter this season, including three goals and nine assists in 19 Serie A outings.
