Super Eagles and Leganes defender, Kenneth Omeruo is expected to undergo late fitness test to ascertain if he is physically and mentally fit for today’s mother of all clash against Laliga champions Real Madrid.
He played for seven minutes and was pulled off for his compatriot, Chidozie Awaziem.
Omeruo after he suffered injury as Leganes fell at home to Sevilla last month. But he is in the race against time to return against The Galacticos.
Chidozie Awaziem who served one match suspension on Thursday will start from the bench with coach Javier Aguirre not ready to change the winning side that defeated Athletic Bilbao 20- on Thursday night.
Omeruo and Awaziem have since enjoyed central defence pairing despite Leganes battle to avoid relegation in the La Liga.
Leganes looked as good as relegated when they lost 3-0 at home to Sevilla at the end of June, but Los Pepineros have been in brilliant form during the month of July.
Indeed, Javier Aguirre’s side have picked up 10 points from their last four matches, beating Espanyol, Valencia and Athletic Bilbao in the process, to give themselves a chance of avoiding the drop.
As it stands, Leganes are 18th in the table, one point behind 17th-placed Celta, who will finish their campaign away to already-relegated Espanyol at the same time on the same night.
Leganes will be without the services of
Ruben Perez through suspension due to the yellow card that the midfielder picked up in the 2-0 win at Athletic on Thursday night.
Leganes deserve huge credit for even giving themselves a chance of avoiding the drop.
