Lionel Messi has blasted his fellow Barcelona teammates after the 2-1 defeat against Osasuna on Thursday evening at the Camp Nou after Real Madrid beat Villarreal 3-1 to clinch their 34th La Liga title.
Messi was not excited with the performance of the team since last year and the skipper feels things must be changed if the Catalan team want to compete for the rest of the season in the Champions League.
“Roma, Liverpool… the fans are running out of patience because we’re not giving them anything,” Messi said post-match.
“If we want to fight for the Champions League, a lot has to change.
“Like this, we will lose to Napoli.
“I said a while back it would be difficult to win the Champions League; we didn’t even have enough to win LaLiga…”
Barcelona sacked Ernesto Valverde and install Quique Setien during the season and such gamble has not paid off, the Camp Not outfit is now seven points behind their fellow rival Real Madrid with a game to go in the La Liga.
